Flipkart and PhonePe now established as separate entities
Flipkart and PhonePe announced full ownership separation of PhonePe, earlier this week. The digital payments platform was acquired by Flipkart in 2016. Establishing these two companies as separate entities will create new opportunities for investors to help unlock and maximize enterprise value. As a part of this transaction, existing Flipkart Singapore and PhonePe Singapore shareholders have purchased shares directly in PhonePe India. This also makes PhonePe a fully India-domiciled company.
